§ 30-2. Street drainage and culverts.

  • (a)

    Culvert sizes under driveways must be approved by the city manager. All grade stakes and location for the installation of said culverts are to be established by the superintendent of streets and the work subject to the approval of the superintendent.

    (b)

    Concrete slabs are prohibited across any open ditch or culvert whose purpose is to drain rainfall from areas subject to the jurisdiction of any drainage system located in the city, without approval from the street superintendent.

    (c)

    Any structure placed in, alongside, under, over, or across any drainage pipe, drainage structure, open ditch, or canal whose purpose is to drain rainfall from areas subject to the jurisdiction of drainage systems of the city must be approved by the street superintendent prior to installation.

    (d)

    Dumping of trash or garbage or the placing of mailboxes, screens or any object of material which will interfere with drainage in canals, ditches or any property upon which any of the drainage systems of the city holds a servitude shall not be permitted.
