§ 36-63. Freight loading zones; term defined, use restricted.

  • The term "freight loading zone" along the public streets in the city is defined as being that portion of the roadway adjoining the curbing that has a width sufficient to accommodate a motor vehicle, a length of 85 feet, the curbing of which is painted yellow or orange, and on which appropriate signs have been erected designating it as a freight loading zone. When so marked and designated, it shall be unlawful for anyone to park a motor vehicle in a freight loading zone along the public streets of the city, other than those motor vehicles being at the time utilized to deliver freight to or from any of the business establishments in the city. Whoever violates this section shall be penalized as provided in section 1-8.
